Going back to work.

Maternity leave is a wonderful time to enjoy every minute of. And then it ends all too soon. But after the break from work to have your baby, what happens to your wardrobe? Can you go back to work in your pre-pregnancy clothes? Take a look at our solution.

Position Title – MUM

24 Jun

My Obstetrician once told me that the most common attempt at humor by a pregnant mum, especially a first time mum, is:

“When do we get the instruction manual?”

He said he always laughs politely, but now struggles to reply that there is not one!

So how do you know how to be a mum? Follow this link for  things that Jac would have found useful during that time of need.

And Baby Makes Four…

25 Feb

Lou recently welcomed another beautiful little girl, Dahlia,  to their family. Dahlia’s  brother and two sisters just adore her.   The eldest ( aged 5)  recently commented that ” If she was my baby, I’d hold her as much as I want”, clearly wanting more cuddles!  Maybe she already knows how quickly they grow…

New Years Eve Resolutions

29 Dec

Coming up to New Years Eve, one of the most popular resolutions is to lose weight!

There is one very simple equation that is the answer to weight loss;  if

IN is less than   OUT = WEIGHT LOSS

Put simply, if you consume (ie eat) less than you put out (ie exercise), than you will lose weight.

It is not about diets, personal trainers, shakes, detox (the list is endless). It is about one thing –             LIFESTYLE!

But remember, it is about being healthy, not being skinny! Enjoy your body and make it last your life time.

It’s a boy!

A few weeks ago, Jac and her family welcomed baby Samuel to their home. His three brothers were expecting a baby girl, but all that went out the window when they saw him for the first time and gave him kisses and cuddles.

Samuel has fitted into the home as if he has been there from the start.

Are we going to China?

13 Oct

A few days ago, my boys started to have a discussion, that soon turned into a wrestle, about who was going to China to get our new baby that is due in a few short weeks. My eldest (nearly 5) told his younger brothers that only he and mummy were going to get the new baby.

This caused me some confusion as I had no idea what he was talking about or where he got that we had to go to China to pick up the baby.

After sorting out the wrestling, it dawned on me.

Earlier that day, my eldest came to me and asked if the “baby was going to come out my bottom?”. I thought, as we were having a quiet discussion without the younger boys, it was okay to tell him that the baby was going to come out of mummy’s vagina.

In his excitement, he heard that the baby was coming from ‘China’!

Every Pregnancy Is Different…

13 Oct

Jac & I are both in our fourth and perhaps final pregnancy.  For each of our pregnancies, some of our experiences have been the same but many have been very different. Lush hair,  PUPS itch, oedema, radiant skin, nausea, cravings, back pain, diabetes  are just some of the many experiences one may have.

For me, severe indigestion has always been a visitor- although at 24 weeks I am yet to experience it this time.  I’ve always enjoyed my pregnancies – perhaps because I always been lucky enough to avoid the dreaded morning ( all day!)  sickness. Just a touch of nausea at the start to let me know we have success.

Unlike my other pregnancies, this time I have been ‘blessed’ with a prolonged bout of hormonal ache. There has also been some severe groin pain as bubs demands more space.

Now I’ll  wait and see what other ‘experiences’ I will have….

What do you want?

2 Aug

We are expecting our fourth child in a few short months, which is a surprise to most people when they find out that it is the fourth ‘biological’ child!

As we have three wonderful healthy boys,  most people will say “I bet you have tried for a girl”.

We get many comments, like “Are you Catholic?”, “Do you know what is causing it?” or “Was this one planned?”. Another common comment is “You need to get a TV in your bedroom!”

The response to all these sorts of comments is “We are just happy that we are able to have healthy children.”

Half way there……….

2 Jul

As I have just passed the half way mark in my fourth (and possibly my last) pregnancy, I feel sad that I may not experience it again, but I also feel excited that I will soon see for the first time my completed family.
